Okay – you've only visited this website because you are serious about wanting to make money out of property. You have to be motivated and action focused to do this. But one of the things people often forget about is that it’s no use making serious money if you end up loosing your health, or worse – keel over early one day. The longer you live, the longer you can invest, the more money you will make for yourself and your family – its cumulative – the compounding benefits of old age. Look at Warren Buffet - he started when he was 16 - he's in his mid 70s now and worth about $70 billion. He is a very good example of compounding and adding sustainable value over many years. Start young, stay healthy and disciplines. Beyond your wildest dreams - you should be able to make serious money.
This is particularly true of property. You can still hold a massive portfolio of property well into old age – and get someone else to manage it for you. But this is all predicated on staying healthy – so now some simple advice to help you stay healthy:
· Don’t drink alcohol If you have to drink, restrict this to less than 2 glass or wine a day – if you need more than 2 glasses of wine a day you are really an alcoholic – serious – your judgment, state of mind, discipline and motivation will be less – your business will likely suffer
· Don’t smoke If you really have to, restrict to 1 or 2 a day and get plenty of exercise to compensate
· Family Make sure you stay close to your family – it’s motivating, creates purpose and will help you live longer
· Married if you are married, stay married, avoid divorce – men live 5 years longer of they are married - it do not seem to make much difference either way for women though
· Friends Socialized helps – stay close to key friends – clubs and activities also help
· Work If you retire, make sure you do this gradually. Working until 65 will knock your chances of survival significantly. Early retirement helps – but make sure you stay active
· Exercise Try and get 20 minutes exercise at least twice a week – preferably 60 minutes. This can be cycling, swimming, stiff walking, running – any aerobic exercise
· Food Eat plenty of fruit, vegetables, nuts – avoid high carbohydrate foods like potatoes, pasta and bread. Wheat contains gluten – many people swell up because of gluten – so you will put on weight if you eat lots of wheat. Also, don’t eat too much – show a bit of discipline!
· Weight Probably the number one killer is excess weight. It puts pressure on the heart, all organs, joints, back and can lead to cardio-vascular problems, diabetes and other disorders. If you are average weight (rather than obese) you can expect to live at least 5 years longer!
· Faith People who are into old age who go to church or practice their religious beliefs often live longer – whether this is social, environmental or motivational would be difficult to judge, but having a strong faith probably helps health
· Special Tip Women and men - use a dumbbell weight whilst to exercise your arms & shoulders whist watching TV – the muscles will develop, increase in size in your arms, back, shoulders and waist by say 20% but this will then burn 20% more calories even when you are asleep. You will loose weight! And you will look great – toned up, flat stomach, nice trim shoulders. You back problems will go away. You won’t fall asleep whilst watching TV – you’ll instead feel mildly invigorated. Try it. Stick to it. Be disciplined – you will loose weight. And if you supplement this with stiff walking – to tone up the biggest muscles - your leg muscles – you’ll loose even more weight and be toned up all around!
Finally, if you want me details on what’s best to eat – refer to our Special Report “No Health No wealth”. We know its not the most obvious thing to write about on a property website - but we truly believe it's very important. Something totally integrated with the discipline of making big onvestment gains.
So what do you think - is this helpful - or do you think you can ignore all the above and still make serious money?
